Welcome October! I'm really looking forward to start the projects of this month and share them with you along the way. But for now I thought I'd take you back to last year in Athens and share this unpublished series of photographs with you.

This series was shot in November last year. Although shot in the streets of Athens, it looks more like Paris meets Havana, don't you agree? And the Parisian look is the look this fall. So grab yourself a beret and voilà!

When you drop your lens hood from the balcony... Yup, this actually happened. Good thing it wasn't the lens itself down there, phew!

When not working... Location scouting and sightseeing is always a good idea for new inspiration!

Happy New Month!

In collaboration with Amarillo, Vaasa, I've had the pleasure to visit the newly renovated restaurant & lounge, experience their concept "The Table", and try a new favorite of mine, -their vegan burger.
Walking up the beautiful neon light staircase with their signature skull logo on the floor, I felt as if I was going to the club, -only this time I'd be served food and have a comfortable seat from where I could have quality discussions.

FRIENDS & STRANGERS

"Amarillo's slogan is 'Friends and Strangers'. You can come with your friends or you can come alone, - either way you'll be guaranteed a good time", says the 27-year old restaurant manager, Jenna Bast. Her presence is spelled B O S S  L A D Y. During our video shoot (video above) I watched how she worked: Always calm and with a smile on her face. She seemed to have an answer to every question and be in control of everything.
Bast continues: "We like to call our bartenders 'Bartainers', and our chefs 'Cheftainers', because they're here to entertain while serving you food and drinks. They'll make sure you have a great time, which you'll notice especially in our new concept The Table".

THE TABLE

By using code Shya20 you'll get 20 % off your "The Table"-experience.

The tall pillar candles on The Table invites you to a royal atmosphere and let you know you're about to have a feast. And indeed you will. On the menu is:

♥ Welcome Drink
♥ First Course
♥ Drink
♥ Second Course
♥ Drink
♥ Third Course
♥ Drink
♥ Dessert
♥ Drink

The presentation of the food is beautifully done with a few surprises. The concept of chefs and bartenders being the ultimate entertainers of the night are brought to light, and suddenly words such as Cheftainers and Bartainers make perfect sense.
There are eight seats at The Table. You can book the whole table and go with a party of eight, or you'll just go with a few of your friends, or you'll go alone. Since The Table always have to be full, this will mean that you'll be sitting with strangers that you hopefully by the end of the night can call new friends of yours (Friends and Strangers). And I doubt they won't be. Your host for the night have prepared fun ice breakers to make sure that no one sits quietly at The Table.

DID SOMEONE SAY VEGAN?

I have to admit. In the beginning I was a little bit nervous about the food. What if they didn't have anything that would fit my current vegan diet? There's one thing to have vegan options on the menu, another to have tasteful vegan options on the menu. To my delight, I found something I can genuinely say that titillated my taste buds: The Vegan Burger, with vegan dip. I'm not a weekly burger person, but once in awhile a girl gotta have a burger and this is the one.

At the end of the day, everything you need for a good night out on the town were on the menu at Amarillo Vaasa: Professional and entertaining service, beautiful atmosphere, good food and good company. That's what I call a full course dinner menu. ♥

Going for a small staycation in your own country might seem totally unnecessary and uninspiring. You might say you'd rather save the days for a longer trip to somewhere more exotic than the environment you're already used to. However, with an open mind and change of perspective, your own country probably has a lot more to offer than what first comes to mind. And remember, what might seem like old news to you, might be on someone else's bucket list.

Reaching the capital city of my home country, Helsinki, I was in total "tourist mode" and curious to find out what the city had to offer since last time I visited. This is what I found in Helsinki in 48 hours:

1.HELSINKI CATHEDRAL

Jacket: Guess // Top: Bershka // Jeans: Bershka // Purse: Moschino // Shoes: Nike

Built as a tribute to the Grand Duke of Finland, Tsar Nicholas I of Russia, Helsinki Cathedral was also known as St Nicholas' Church until the independence of Finland in 1917.  Since I couldn't recall a childhood memory at this city landmark (which I'm sure exists but is yet to be remembered), I had to secure a memory on a SD card once and for all. A couple of clicks later we found what we were actually looking for:

Here's a post loaded with pics! And the reason is understandable: It's from our trip to Santorini. The picture perfect island is exactly what you expect it to be: Blue, white, and beautiful! The white, sugar-cube houses built right on the cliffs of Santorini, gives you a breathtaking view to the Aegean Sea. Speaking of the white buildings of Santorini, -even Lidl was a white building! Haha. I wish I had a picture of it, but before I knew it, we had driven past it.

This week we’ve had the opportunity to enjoy a day at Saddlerock Ranch which arranges different types of safaris. We went on the Giraffe Tour where we were blown away by outstanding views and sampled vines produced at the ranch and also at other local places. On the 1000-acre ranch we also got to see animals like zebras, water buffaloes, llamas and Hollywood star Stanley the Giraffe.

Dusseldorf Airport on my way to Helsinki Airport

Arlanda Airport on my way to LAX

Honestly, I just don’t get how they do it. It seems like all over Instagram, people touch down at the airport looking like they’ve gotten all the sleep in the world and their whole outfit has just been sent from the Dry Cleaner – picture perfect to say the least.

Meanwhile I’m struggling with frizzy hair that I end up putting in a messy bun that doesn’t even look messy in a cute way. And dark circles under my eyes reveal that I probably didn’t go to sleep when I was supposed to because I was stressing with last minute packing… Thankfully there are filters to hide the brutal truth, but at the end of the day you want to feel good too – not only try and look the part. So here are three things I’ve learned work for me when traveling long-haul flights:

Get the look
