As promised in my last post, Coats for Fall, here are more coats! Although this was shot in spring in Los Angeles, the timing for checkered coats could not be more perfect! Checkered pattern is the anthem of autumn 2018! Checkered trousers, skirts, blazers are perfect options for you who are looking for that little extra stylish fashionista look this fall.
Walking down Melrose Avenue in this coat from Topshop, and big black sunglasses,  I could not help but feel like a secret detective on a coffee break  😎 Do you see it too  😀 ?

COATS FOR FALL

In the spirit of my post "Back to School" where I'm declaring my love for fall, I thought I'd continue with the same love this upcoming week and zoom in on one essential garment in particular: Coats. And as the fan I am of statement headwear, and a sucker for shoulder pads, we'll start with this look:

This look includes the very two things this fall will be all about: Coats an hats. Now, for those who have been following me here for a while might have spotted more than just one post suggesting my love for headwear. And it's here to stay. Sailor cap with its comeback last year is still going strong this fall. In fact, it kicked in another gear and can now be found in so many other colors than black (which I know, is technically not a color, but you know what I mean). Colors such as red, blue and green are headwear colors I applaud. For those who might not found the sailor cap a personal fave - you'll be happy to know that berets are making a huge comeback as well.

Stay tuned for more coats. Happy Sunday guys! ♥

COLOR BLOCKING

While color blocking might be considered more of a fashion thing for spring, I'd say let's not stop there. Let's continue throughout fall, because it makes our outfits look unpredictable and vibrant. Here are a few examples of me using color blocking:

 RED AND BLUE

If you think about it, it's really the purse that makes the look complete. Imagine this outfit without the blue purse, -it'd be a total different look. The blue makes the red pop out more and vice versa. And with a white shirt you still keep it somewhat neutral, which brings me to our second look. There's nothing neutral about this one:

COLOR BLOCKING À LA JESSICA RABBIT

When we hear Jessica Rabbit, we immediately think red dress, purple gloves, and Halloween... Yes, one year I did dress up as Jessica Rabbit for Halloween... But in an attempt of recreating her look to a more (shall I say) practical look, this is what I came up with: Red suit and purple shirt and earrings. There's just something to that color combination that I find very attractive.

Color Pop

While this look is not so much of a color block as it's just a color pop -this look still brings unpredictability. Matching a denim jacket with a shiny pink skirt makes it safe to say you played the unsafe the right way. Liked my little rhyme there  😉  ? Maybe I should start writing fashion poetry? Oh my, time to finish this post before it's gone way left, haha.

Have a lovely week guys, keep killin it!

Back to school: Basically another way of declaring the end of summer and the beginning of a new season, fall.
Luckily I happen to be one to love fall, it is undisputedly the best season for fashion. Layers will put you to the test (how creative can you be?) and the leaves outside will challenge you to try a more dramatic color scheme. Fall is to me the season when you fall in love. You fall in love with the creative side of you (again). You figure out new strategies in your career, you find passion in new projects, and you come up with new outfits that keep you warm and look good (layers!).

While this outfit does not include a whole lot of layers (lol), nor does it scream color, it is "back to school" to me. It is back to being creative. Back to figure new ways out.
I just so happened to come across this dress in a second hand store. And with a pair of high knee boots, beret and accessories, -this boring ol' dress suddenly came to life screaming Sty-lish!
When the temperature really starts to drop, I'll just sneak a long sleeve top underneath, put on a pair of stockings and top it off with a killer coat.  After all, that is what style essentially is about - making things your own.

Back to school, back to work, or whatever you're back to. Let's all get back to moving forward in the things we love to do, and let's all do it in our own unique style. ♥
